ATTENDERE AUT MORIRE
Bedford's Director of Facilities, Ron Scaltreto, has generously agreed to give us a tour of Bedford High School (on his day off!). Let's find out what's changed and what's still the same. We'll meet at the main entrance. It may be difficult for latecomers to get in and find us so please be on time.
Nothing formal, just some time for everyone to hang out in a familiar spot and for parents to let the kids run around. Hopefully it'll be warm-ish.
The main event!
ADMISSION FEE
Recommended contribution $5-25 per person (no one will be
turned away)
DRESS CODE
Wear whatever you like but we hope someone will wear Hammer
pants.
KID CODE
No kids. Sorry.
FOOD AND DRINK
We will have a taco bar from a local caterer and some
dessert but if you have a dish you are dying to share, feel free to bring
it. Cash bar.
PAYING TRIBUTE TO THOSE WE'VE LOST
Sadly, some of our classmates have
passed away. There will be a table dedicated to their memory on which folks
can place pictures and remembrances. If anyone wishes to speak in memory of
a classmate, please let us know at info@bedford99.org.
SLIDESHOW
We need more pictures! Please send them to pics@bedford99.org
DOOR PRIZES
We've got some great prizes including a pair of Bruins
tickets. Must be present to win!
TRANSPORTATION
There's car parking out back, a Route 62
bus stop out front, and, next to
it, a bike rack. If you plan to drink, please consider how you'll get home.
The local cab company is Bedford Coach (781-275-5000) but Lyft and Uber
will gladly take your money, too.
BIG THANKS TO THE AMERICAN LEGION
Most reunions would have to charge at
least $50 per person to offer a catered event like this but Paula Verrier
(Tracy Gullage's mom!) helped us secure use of the American Legion *at no
charge*! Our ability to offer a low, sliding-scale admission fee is a
direct result of the Legion's generosity. It feels good to know that
Bedford looks out for its own.
In the unlikely event that proceeds from our admission fee exceed the costs
incurred by organizers, all excess funds will be donated to:
THE CLASS OF 1999 SCHOLARSHIP FUND
When we graduated, our class received a
total of $70,000 in scholarships from Bedford's Dollars for Scholars program. Since then, college
hasn't gotten any cheaper and now it's our turn to give back. Please
consider donating to the newly-established Class of 1999 Scholarship Fund,
administered by Dollars for Scholars. Our goal is to raise $5,000 by this
time next year. Donate here(and be sure to list "BHS Class of 1999" in the "Tribute or Scholarship
Name" field). Any donation helps.
